• 21/12/09 - Merger sought by alpha.
As part of its strategy to expand into Southern Ireland, Alpha is seeking to acquire or merge with a similar company in the Cork or Waterford area. Brendan Foley, Creative Director, is relocating to Waterford in 2010 and will work on both on and off-line marketing projects for clients within the area. Whilst the company has grown organically in the UK over the 20 years since it was founded, a move into interactive website services last year has flagged up a demand for Alpha's services in Ireland. "We have found that we have a competitive edge in Southern Ireland," said Elaine Nester, MD of Alpha. "Having looked at the market we have found a shortage of companies in the area that provide the holistic marketing solutions that we provide for our clients. We also offer a cost saving compared to our counterparts in Ireland owing to having production facilites in the UK which will continue to be the case." Brendan Foley said, "Technology such as Skype allows us to maintain an effective interface between the UK and Ireland and I will continue to direct and schedule work for the team in Shrewsbury. In order to turbo charge our growth in Southern Ireland, we are seeking to meet like-minded directors who may want to work with us or sell their company." Companies in the UK wishing to consider mergers are also sought.
