Celtic Clover still lucky for Alpha february 2008
One of Alpha Design and Marketing’s earliest clients returned to the company recently for help to relaunch a product with a difference! Celtic Clovers of Aberystwyth grow genuine four leaf clovers and market them mounted in a sealed gift card which Alpha designed for them originally 16 years ago. Terry Michaelson-Yeates of Celtic Clovers decided to relaunch the clovers and sell them online after he retired from his career as a research biologist.
Mr. Michaelson-Yeates, who says that he has, “a real passion for clover” discovered on his travels a small population of plants that had a relatively high number of four leaves.
He took cuttings of these plants and set them up in his glasshouse at home. Most of them did not produce any more four-leaves, but some produced several, indicating that the four-leaf phenomenon must be under some sort of genetic control.
Elaine Nester of Alpha said, “We were delighted to hear from Terry again after so many years. Although he was selling previously through retail outlets, the time is right to sell direct to the public via the new website that we have built. We have also redesigned the clover card itself which has refreshed the product. It has already attracted much interest and can be seen and bought at www.celtic-clovers.co.uk.
